Mokwon University RISE Industry-Academia-Community FESTA, Connecting the Future with the Region
The RISE Industry-Academia-Community FESTA hosted by Mokwon University RISE Project Group was successfully held at Daejeon ICC on the 29th and 30th.
This event was a meaningful opportunity to share the outcomes of collaboration among the local community, industry, and academia, and to present a future vision for regional innovation.
Under the theme “RISE, CONNECT & MOVE TOGETHER,” the event showcased real examples of collaboration where universities, regions, and companies connect, move together, and grow.
A Platform for Industry, Academia, and the Region
The FESTA attracted hundreds of participants including local governments, public institutions, partner companies, university officials, faculty members, and students.
Through exhibitions of industry-academia collaboration outcomes, RISE performance briefings, talk concerts, and forums, a wide range of innovative cases and achievements created through collaboration were shared.
The event went beyond simple presentations, serving as a practical forum for discussing how universities, companies, and public institutions can collaborate to drive regional innovation.
A Shared Message for Regional Innovation
The opening ceremony featured a welcome address by President Hee-hak Lee of Mokwon University, followed by congratulatory remarks from Mayor Jang-woo Lee of Daejeon, City Council Chairman Won-hwi Jo, Superintendent Dong-ho Seol, Seo-gu District Head Cheol-mo Seo, and National Assembly Member Jong-tae Jang.
The event reaffirmed that university-led industry-academia collaboration is a core driver of regional growth and innovation.
Achievements and Shared Growth through Collaboration
Awards were presented to 19 recipients including four companies such as Neopharm, two institutions, faculty members, and researchers in recognition of their contributions to the RISE project.
In addition, signboard presentations for 13 family companies demonstrated that collaboration is leading to tangible results and shared growth.
This moment symbolized that industry-academia collaboration is not merely declarative, but is making real contributions to the local economy and talent development.
WITIVE Participates as a Successful Case of Global Talent Settling Locally
During the FESTA, WITIVE Inc. participated in the forum on educational and settlement strategies for global talent, sharing meaningful achievements.
Team Leader Jeong Moo-seong and WITIVE developer VO KHANH LINH shared a real success story of studying at a local university, securing employment, and growing into a core talent within the company.
Burkanlin, who majored in software at Mokwon University and later joined WITIVE, is now an essential developer, representing a successful cycle from local university to local company and long-term regional settlement.
Through this FESTA, WITIVE reaffirmed that industry-academia collaboration is a sustainable structure that helps regional talent grow locally and develop global competitiveness.
For companies, collaboration with local universities is not just about hiring but about building long-term partnerships where both companies and talent grow together. WITIVE continues to create connections between education, practice, and growth.
